It’s been a positive week for S.S. Lazio, which is now preparing for the most important appointment of the season. Biancocelesti will face Roma in the high voltage «Derby della Capitale» on Sunday. The outcome of the derby, will establish not only the supremacy in the Eternal City, but could also be the opportunity to improve yet again the ranking in the table. In any event, let’s begin with things in order, starting by the latest happenings.

On yesterdays Serie A lunch match Lazio defeated Palermo 0-1 at home, achieving his ninth consecutive positive result of the season. The win over the sicilians kept the Biancocelesti at a distance of just on point from the second place. Milinkovic-Savic netted the winning goal capitalizing a good assist by Basta. However great part of the credit belongs to Felipe Anderson who started the action with an enlightening pass for the serbian. The opponents reaction was poor in the second half, so Inzaghi’s squad suffered very few dangers, except for some risks in the final part of the second half. After the game Simone Inzaghi commented: «I wish the guys had closed the game earlier, but I’m equally satisfied. Now we have to focus on the derby against Roma, for which we will recover some important players». The coach refers mainly to Stefan de Vrij, who today came back to full training with the rest of the squad, along Luis Alberto and Ricardo Kishna. Marchetti too carried out the whole training session with the goalkeeper’s coach Adalberto Grigioni, and will do his best to be fit for the match against the giallorossi.

S.S. Lazio U-20 get back on track: Bonatti‘s boys managed a win against Fiorentina at Mirko Fersini Stadium. The match ended 1-0 and it was decided by the croatian midfielder Duje Javorcic who bagged his first goal ever for Lazio. The Young Eagles with this 3 points reach up the second spot in cohabitation with Milan. The leaders Hellas Verona ar now five points far. The next game will be a regional derby, which will see Lazio visit their Latina peers.

There are some important updates on Lucas Biglia’s contract extension. Next week the argentine midfielder and his agent will meet with Lazio’s executives to sign a new, improved, deal: Principito should earn 3 millions euros per year until 2021. If the figures will be confirmed, Biglia willl become the first player to earn such an amount of money during Lotito‘s presidency. The main goal is to drive away rumours of other teams like Inter which would be willing to pay 26 million euros for his favors.

The opening of the transfer window is almost imminent, and Lazio’s board is evaluating the idea of purchasing some players to improve the team. Keita Diao Baldé will leave the Capital for about a month in January, to play Africa Cup of Nations with Senegal. Finding an adequate replacement could be a necessity, with Kishna and Luis Alberto still unfit and at the fringe of the project. Igli Tare‘s first name on the list responds to Ludogorets Razagrad Jonathan Cafu. The brazilian winger is worth around 12 million euros. Many teams are interested in him, but the albanian director of football could move in advance to smite the competition.
